The heist film is turned inside out in this wildly entertaining true-life tale focuses on four dimwitted college friends who, inspired by their favourite movies, hatch a scheme to steal a multi-million dollar book collection.
In 2004 Lexington, Kentucky four students - inspired by films like Ocean’s 11, The Italian Job and Snatch - plan to steal priceless books from their university’s special collections library to escape the drudgery of their privileged suburban lives. So, armed with old man disguises, a stun pen, a minivan and, er, lots of weed, they set off on a mission to pull off one of the most audacious art thefts in recent history...
Bart Layton (The Imposter) brings his expert blend of reality and fiction in his debut narrative feature, directing a brilliant young cast including Barry Keoghan and Evan Peters (alongside the real, now much older, perpetrators). A hugely enjoyable, high energy tale about four misguided men searching in all the wrong places for identity, meaning, and adventure.
