Join Graeme Hogg from the Cube Cinema and Nachleben Experimental Film Archive for a talk about the processes involved in digitising some nitrate film that was found at the Curzon Cinema & Arts in Clevedon.
His interest has been in trying to re-instate the presence of the projector mechanism in digital 'versions' in the form of 'flicker' and this has lead to some curious, strange and unexpected detours into frequency. As well as a deep examination of the film projector mechanism, this talk also looks at what makes digital and analogue fundamentally different visual experiences.
