Season

Please note : this season finished in July 2017

We’re delighted to continue our partnership with the pioneering Il Cinema Ritrovato, the inspiration for Cinema Rediscovered with a trio of highlights direct from this year’s festival.

Festival Director Gian Luca Farinelli introduces In Search of Colour, a programme of striking shorts including some brand new restorations from Cineteca Di Bologna’s L'Immagine Ritrovata labs with a live accompaniment from pianist Stephen Horne. There’s also a special preview of Bill Morrison’s Dawson City Frozen Time uncovering the amazing history of an unwitting repository for hundreds of reels of once lost nitrate film and a 40th anniversary showing of D.A.Pennebaker’s Monterey Pop.
