Women on the Periphery
Cinema Rediscovered 2018
Please note : this season finished in July 2018
If we shift our gaze, ever so slightly, a different picture begins to form, just on the periphery. Women’s stories, told by and about them; about love, life and the determinism to be true to themselves are the focus of our view in this year's Cinema Rediscovered.
Celebrating brave, bold, funny and warm storytelling from ten extraordinary filmmakers, this programme seeks to reframe and rediscover their passionate and singular filmmaking talents. Locating complex identities and searching for their place in a world that wasn’t always ready for them, this programme includes debut feature films from Tracey Moffatt, Gurinder Chadha, Ester Martin Bergsmark, Margaret Tait, Ildikó Enyedi, Madeline Anderson and Leslie Harris, as well as shorts from Gurinder Chadha, Tracey Moffatt, Bexie Bush, Joanna Quinn and Alia Syed.
