More than 80 years since the American romantic comedy first screened, Top Hat remains one of the best of the Fred Astaire-Ginger Rogers musicals.
Set in London and Venice, the story follows an American dancer, Jerry Travers (Fred Astaire) who comes to London to star in a show and falls for a model (Ginger Rogers) who he initially annoyed, but she mistakes him for his goofy producer Horace Hardwick (Edward Everette Horton).
It’s a well-known fact Astaire believed movie dance numbers should be shot in unbroken takes and run for as long as possible, so get ready to witness some of the most legendary dances from Astaire and Roger which make the hardest physical stunts seem light as air.
