How can non-fiction VR pieces create meaningful dialogue for audiences? Can immersive artwork have an impact? Join studio residents Anagram as they explore this & more at this lunchtime talk.
Using a piece of work called The Collider, Anagram conducted a series of workshops in the South West with diverse audiences, exploring questions such as, how can we build a dynamic and lasting conversation around immersive work? What happens before - and after? Who comes to see this work - and why? If interactive and immersive work are different experiences to say going to the cinema and theatre - how can we think about the right ways to design the venues and events that stage the works?
The Collider is an installation piece by Anagram that explores the relationships between people. The piece stages an encounter between two people in which the dynamic that emerges - following instructions and exploring the piece - offers people a chance to reflect on their own relationship with the power dynamics that fizz and pop between people. It premiered at Tribeca Film Festival in New York in April, won best immersive art award at Sandbox Immersive Festival in Qingdao, China and was just feature in the “best of 2019” VR section at Venice Film Festival. It is hopefully coming to the UK in 2020!
The talk will be held by Amy who is one half of Anagram. ANAGRAM is an award-winning creative collective who make immersive experiences that bring together innovative digital interaction and stories told from real life.
