A pyromaniac returns to his mother's farm in Oliver Laxe's visually jaw-dropping study of the Galician landscape - winner of the Un Certain Regard at Cannes last year.
Amador (Amador Arias) returns to his home, a small village hidden in the mountains of rural Galicia, after spending two years in prison for arson. He lives with his elderly mother (Benedicta Sánchez) and their three cows on their family farm, and life goes by slowly, following the rhythm of nature... until a fire starts to devastate the region, and the finger of blame lands squarely on Amador.
A raw, ravishing sensory experience filled with beautifully shot images of the Galician countryside, this is a hypnotic study of nature, human nature, and the areas in between.
