Roy Andersson's follow up to A Pigeon Sat on a Branch Reflecting on Existence is a brilliantly odd deadpan reflection on human life in all its beauty and cruelty, splendour and banality.
Through a series of eerie, blackly comic vignettes - a couple glide above a war-torn Cologne, three teenagers dance outside a cafe, a priest loses faith in God, an army marches to a prisoner-of-war-camp, a father stops to tie his daughter's shoelaces - Andersson shows us a topsy turvy world unaware of what truly matters.
Simultaneously an ode and a lament, About Endlessness presents a kaleidoscope of all that is eternally human, and all its moments of pain, sadness and joy.
