Please note: This event took place in March 2021
Join us for the second of our Conversations About Cinema - Thought in Action online panel discussions - when we will be talking about Satyajit Ray's Ghare-Baire (The Home and the World), the story of a love triangle that also explores the early 20th century nationalist movement and the emancipation of women.
The panel (chaired by Emma Brännlund, Senior Lecturer in International Relations at UWE Bristol) includes Ashvin Immanuel Devasundaram (Senior Lecturer in World Cinema at Queen Mary University of London), Ian Christie (Professor of Film and Media History at Birbeck University of London) and UWE Philosophy students.
Watch Ghare-Baire at your leisure on MUBI before the discussion. You can get three months of free access to MUBI by visiting mubi.com/watershed. MUBI have also recently introduced a discounted student membership for £5.99 per month for university students worldwide.
Conversations About Cinema - Thought in Action Online is a partnership between the Philosophy and Politics teams at UWE Bristol, Watershed and MUBI.
