Join Curator Yvonne Connikie of Cinema Golau for an online streamed programme of films from Welsh filmmakers with ancestry in Africa and the Caribbean.

Each filmmaker has found a deeply personal and unique way to tell their story, using different mediums including poetry, dance, and soundscape. Their films embrace their cultural experiences and explore new avenues in which to address issues of slavery, race, gender, and identity.

Yvonne Connikie is a Programmer/Curator specialising in Black Independent Film. Yvonne is a PHD candidate at the University of South Wales exploring the Leisure Activities of the Windrush Caribbean’s in Butetown, Cardiff and a programmer for the Windrush Caribbean Film Festival.

Cinema Golau is a screening platform for Black Filmmakers born or based in Wales.
