Takahisa Zeze directs this literary adaptation about three mothers contending with the pressures of motherhood in modern Japanese society.

Rumiko, Kana and Asumi - unrelated to one another are inexplicably connected: all three of their 10-year-old sons share the same name, Yu Ishibashi.

Separately the three women find themselves grappling with their own daily struggles of bullying, domestic abuse, work/life balance and dementia, leading to treat their respective sons very differently.
