Belgian director Laura Wandel's extraordinary debut is a bold and emotive tale of two young siblings that has been dubbed as 'one of the best films ever made about childhood'.
Anxious 7-year-old Nora (Maya Vanderbeque) finds herself becoming responsible for her older brother Abel (Günter Duret) as she watches him get tormented in the playground by other kids. With the adults at school turning a blind eye, and not wishing to undermine her brother's already weakened social standing, Nora attempts to take action into her own hands.
Winner of multiple awards including the Un Certain Regard FIPRESCI Prize at Cannes, this is a lucid, gripping examination of school life and politics, its all-encompassing nature, and the occasional cruelty of children.
