Often hailed as one of the great family films, this enduring classic tells the story of E.T, a gentle stranded alien who befriends a young boy called Elliott, who tries to take him in as part of the family. With the government hot on his trail, E.T. must try to get back to his own kind, otherwise life under a microscope is the fate that awaits him.

Steven Spielberg’s sci-fi masterpiece is beautifully made, and only the hardest-hearted could fail to shed a tear by the time the curtains close.
