Terence Stamp stars in Pier Paolo Pasolini's Theorem as the mysterious stranger who seduces members of a wealthy Milanese family one by one, creating an existential crisis in each of their lives.
Little is known of Stamp's 'The Visitor'; maybe he's an angel, maybe he's a devil, but one thing is clear - his power to upend the status quo of this bourgeois family is immense.
Pasonlini's film received negative backlash by the Vatican on its release in 1968, and you can see why as it goes for the jugular by criticising religion and society's sacred cows.
