Introduced in 1922, 9.5mm film was the world’s most widely accessible home movie format. It encompassed everything from colour to sound to widescreen. In spite of Pathe ceasing production of it in the early 1960’s, this unusual gauge has since become extremely popular with amateur filmmakers and film collectors alike.
Join BFI National Film Archive Curatorial Archivist Rosie Taylor for a free drop-in event, showcasing a selection of films screened on a 9.5mm projector and learn more about its prolific and fascinating history
Presented in collaboration with BFI’s Film on Film Festival.
