Fernando Meirelles and Kátia Lund’s Brazilian crime epic is back on our screens and looking better than ever.

Set in Rio de Janeiro’s infamous Cidade de Deus (City of God) suburb between the end of the 1960s and the beginning of the 1980s, the film tells the stories of several interconnected characters struggling to escape violence and poverty from the point of view of a favela dweller nicknamed Rocket (Alexandre Rodrigues).
