Written, directed and starring Allen Baron as hitman Frank Bono, Blast of Silence tells the story of Frank’s time in New York, at the height of the holiday season, while he waits for his target to appear. What starts out as a standard hit, turns into a dangerous chase of cat and mouse in and around Manhattan.

Produced on a shoe-string budget, Baron’s directorial debut is classed by many as the bridge between the classic noir era and neo noir.

With an incredible narration written by Waldo Salt (The Philadelphia Story, Midnight Cowboy) - who at the time was on the FBI’s banned list for his affiliation to the Communist party- and spoken by Lionel Stander (Call Northside 777, Once Upon a Time in the West) Blast of Silence is the perfect film to get into the alternative Christmas spirit!

Presented in collaboration with BFI Film Audience Network and Film Noir UK.
