Plunge yourself into the time-splicing, dimension-shifting world of screenwriter Charlie Kaufman and director Michel Gondry in this 2004 (can you believe it is ten years old already?) romantic sci fi. We all have somebody we might want to erase, but do we really know what we are getting rid of? When timid Joel (Jim Carrey) and sparky Clementine (Kate Winslet) meet by chance, they lose their minds over each other - literally. After their affair ends, Clementine decides she can't live with the memories and employs the services of Lacuna Inc, a business that erases unwanted recollections. Joel discovers what she has done and decides to follow suit, but changes his mind while watching his memories being erased, and must race through his own brain trying to stop the process. Vibrant, warm and deliriously inventive, no film since Annie Hall has captured the entire arc of a relationship, from messy breakup to sunshiney start. It's unforgettable - naturally.
Memories are what define us. We all have things we treasure, and some that we'd rather forget. Come and spend an evening at Watershed from 21:00 making memories and letting go of others before watching the film. And look out for that bed scene, recreated and ready for you to take a selfie, with Agent Orange and Blue Ruin making an appearance throughout. Meet us at Watershed?
