Famous for his uncompromising roles in Scum, Sexy Beast and Nil By Mouth, Ray Winstone is the nation's favourite "hard man". Join us at this exclusive event to launch Ray's autobiography, Young Winstone, where he reveals how growing up in the working-class East End of London, a successful amateur boxing career, and a rebellious adolescence, led him to become one of the most charismatic actors of his generation and a beloved British icon.
Before we get gritty with Ray, we'll be screening Sexy Beast, cited by Total Film as one of the top 15 films of all time and arguably Winstone's most acclaimed film to date. In it he plays "Gal" Dove, a happily married retired thief dragged back into London's underworld by a former associate psychopath Don Logan, played by Ben Kingsley who won an Oscar® for best supporting role.
Ray will be in conversation with author Ben Thompson and after the event, he will be signing copies of Young Winstone.
