Off the shores of the Pacific Ocean, massive northern elephant seals battle like gladiators to become kings of the beach. Each year, these seals are forced to fight their way through towering waves to migrate to California's central coast. They arrive for one purpose. To breed. As the beach is filled with five ton bulls, they clash, bite and brutally attack each other to win hundreds of females and to claim themselves to be California's 'Beach Masters'.
Plus short: 'West Coast Adventure':
Based on the west coast of Vancouver Island, Bertie Gregory follows the trials and tribulations of crab eating black bear cubs as their mothers struggle to protect them from infanticidal males.
The screening will be followed by a Q&A with filmmakers Alex Jones and Bertie Gregory.
