A huge box office hit in Japan, director and comedian Gekidan Hikori’s adaptation of his own novel is an uplifting comedy about family, ambition and the consequences of the choices we make in life. Haruo (Yo Oizumi) can’t seem to catch a break. Broke and tending bars for a living after failing to become a successful stage magician, things seemingly get even worse when he gets a phone call informing him that his estranged father has recently passed away. However, en route to collect his father’s belongings lightning strikes and Haruo finds himself transported 40 years into the past where he stumbles, not only on a better career opportunity, but also his future parents.
