How technology has sabotaged what it means to be male
Young men are failing as never before - academically, socially and sexually. But why? What are the implications? And what can be done about it? Internationally acclaimed psychologist Dr Philip Zimbardo reveals how modern manhood has hit crisis point and argues that urgent steps must be taken for the good of society. He considers factors including absent fathers, female-favouring legislations, and, most controversially, the argument that readily available pornography and exciting gaming realities provide digital alternatives that are less demanding and far more appealing for many than sex, sports and social interaction in the real world. Zimbardo forces us to think about how we arrived at this state of affairs and what the solutions might be.
