This passionate, bold and controversial love story from director Abdellatif Kechiche (Couscous) spans several years in the life of Adèle (Adèle Exarchopoulos), a sensitive high school student who, despite the advances of a handsome boy in the year above, is drawn to a mysterious, blue-haired, older art school student who she glimpses in the street. From that moment onwards, Adèle is intoxicated by Emma (Lea Seydoux) and we are swept along with their tumultuous relationship, at times quiet and sensual, at others aching and visceral.

A stunning portrayal of a young girl’s discovery of her desires and emotions through the intense intimacy and heightened senses of a first relationship, this is for anyone who has ever fallen hard and had their hearts broken, or has experienced the agony and ecstasy of young love. A hugely powerful and beautifully-crafted love story about a deeply passionate relationship between two young women, this is never anything less than completely engaging.

Express yourself and your passions and join us in the Café/Bar from 22:00 for a communal art experience, as we turn Watershed blue with a colourful evening of artistic expression, setting the backdrop of our exploration into love’s hold on all of our senses.
