Special Screening - Janis: Little Girl Blue
classified 15part of Let All The Children Boogie: The Fringe at Watershed
Please note: This was screened in Feb 2016
Janis Joplin is one of the most revered and iconic rock and roll singers of all time, a tragic and misunderstood figure who thrilled millions of listeners and blazed new creative trails before her death in 1971 at age 27. With Janis: Little Girl Blue, Oscar®-nominated director Amy Berg (Deliver Us From Evil, West of Memphis) examines Joplin’s story in depth for the first time on film, presenting an intimate and insightful portrait of a complicated, driven, often beleaguered artist.
Join us in the Café/Bar before the film from 19:30 and after the film (until midnight) for a specially curated DJ set from Scott Hendy (Malachai/Boca 45) and John Parish (PJ Harvey) for a mix of 60s/70s psych, rock, and soundtracks. The Fringe DJ events at Watershed are free - so come and make a night of it and celebrate the spirit of Janis…
Janis: Little Girl Blue will then screen from Sat 13 - Thu 18 Feb.
