An exclusive preview of work in progress extracts from a new documentary on Cary Grant, a look at his journey from Bristol boy Archibald Leach to Hollywood legend. The documentary takes a first person approach and includes rare home movie footage giving a unique insight into Grant's life. Grant's unexpectedly good camerawork reveals much about the way in which he saw the world around him.
Director Mark Kidel will talk about the process of making the documentary and the creative challenges of directing this new perspective on Archie Leach's incredible journey to becoming Cary Grant.
Kidel is a documentary filmmaker and writer who lives in Bristol, England. His award-winning films include portraits of Elvis Costello, Boy George, Ravi Shankar, Rod Stewart, Derek Jarman and Bristol-born Tricky.
