The Marvellous Sweetie Factory

Jasmine's Marvellous Sweetie Factory

part of Roald Dahl on Film

Event

Please note: This event took place in Aug 2016

Drop in between 14:00 - 16:00 in the Café/Bar

Invent your own sweet treat at this unique cooking demo inspired by Roald Dahl's inventive stories Charlie and The Chocolate Factory and George's Marvellous Medicine.

Guided by the chef-come-artist hand of Jasmine Creusson, you'll be given the choice to adapt your own sweet treat by choosing a combination of delightful toppings to adorn a sweet brittle base. Will you choose something crunchy or gooey, chunky or gloopey, fruity and fresh, or just plain sparkly? You decide!

This FREE event (on Mon 1 Aug from 14:00 to 16:00) launches our Book Den area in the Café/Bar and is most suited for ages 6-12 years old and their families. All children must be accompanied by an adult. Fully grown human beans without little ones also welcome!

Inspired? Catch the original Willy Wonka and The Chocolate Factory on Sun 7 Aug at 12:00 and enjoy a free Chocolate Illustration workshop before the film at 10:00.

Please note, toppings may contain nuts. Allergen advice available on request on the day of the event.

Jasmine Creusson recently joined our Pervasive Media Studio as as a resident working on a micro-residency project that combines food with technology. She is looking into the themes of forgotten foods and how this relates to the ever growing need for the 'instant' within our modern society.
