There is No Such Thing as Over-Sharing
Feminist and anti-FGM campaigner Nimko Ali shares stories of pregnancy and periods, orgasms and the menopause, from women from all walks of life. Discover her own history of over-sharing, as she talks about living with FGM, the political fight to get the discussion of FGM in the mainstream, the relationships women have with their vagina, and why we should never be afraid of speaking out with honesty.
Speaker biography:
Nimko Ali is a feminist and anti-FGM campaigner. She has spoken at events, including Women of the World, The Girl Summit, UN Commission on the Status of Women. She has won numerous awards including being named one of Cosmopolitan's Women of the Year 2010, BBC's 100 Women of 2013, Red Magazine Woman of the Year 2014 and sixth on the Woman's Hour Power List 2014. Most recently she was named by The Sunday Times as one of Debrett's 500 most influential people in Britain. She is a co-founder of Daughters of Eve and currently works for the Women's Equality Party and as an independent adviser on a number of government and non-government bodies.
