Please note: This event took place in Aug 2017
Please note: Interest in this event has been huge so we have moved it to a larger location within the building (Waterside 3) in an attempt to accommodate demand. Entry will be on a first come first served basis. Some seating will be on the floor or on beanbags. Buggy parking will be available.
Let’s put the rainbow in reading – join us for our first ever Drag Queen Storytime, a fun, inclusive couple of hours for families in the Café/Bar with fabulous local Drag Queens Donna La Mode and Miss Cherry.
Capture the imagination and fun of gender fluidity and imagine a world where people – and insects – can transform and be who they really want to be.
Expect some friendly sing-a-longs, dancing and plenty of live readings from such childrens’ classics as The Very Hungry Caterpillar, Alice In Wonderland and 10,000 dresses. Why not transform yourself for the event? Come along as a butterfly, ladybird, dragonfly or your favourite mini-beast!
Entry to the storytelling session is free. The readings begin at 10:00 and runs until midday and you can drop in at anytime. We’ll be reading from a selection of books suitable for a variety of ages (2 - 11 years old) so the whole ant farm can come!
Donna La Mode is a Bristol based Drag Queen, seasoned entertainer and former musical theatre performer who recently represented Bristol in Drag Idol 2017, and who works throughout the country in shows and cabaret bringing glitz, glamour and sparkle to every event!
