Mark Jenkin, a visionary filmmaker and inspiring exponent of low-budget filmmaking, has returned to celluloid and embraced the physical mechanics of analogue film. Shooting on a clockwork camera, processing by hand using experimental developing techniques his films have a beautiful aesthetic adding a distinctive depth to their narrative. In 2015 he made the unique 44min, Bronco’s House and is now working with Early Day Films on the feature film Bait using the same techniques.
Encounters have the first public screening of the 35mm print of Bronco’s House, with an opportunity to join Mark in conversation afterwards.Bronco’s House – One man’s quest for a roof.
