Event

Please note: This event took place in Sept 2017

VR is a brand new medium, and with it comes the opportunity to subvert norms and challenge assumptions. Guest curator Catherine Allen invites you to submerge yourself in a series of boundary-pushing VR experiences that will introduce you to a range of refreshingly different perspectives on the world. From challenging an urban-centric outlook, to whole-heartedly representing the female experience, Another Gaze will draw attention to the creative importance of the world view that VR creators come with.

Another Gaze’s curator, Catherine Allen is a BAFTA-winning immersive media specialist who led the production of two of the BBC’s first VR experiences. She now focuses her time around helping VR reach broader audiences by partnering with arts venues to put on VR events.

WeMakeVR and explorer Arita Baaijens travelled to the edges of Europe to explore the fields of rough Ireland, where we searched for a bond between the land and its inhabitants. We discover that there is more to the land than the eye can see. The documentary follows two sheep farmers in the rugged and remote Connamara and The Burren on the west coast of Ireland.
