In a small courthouse in Cameroon, two women are working to change a village. Sisters in Law follows feisty and tough-minded state prosecutor Vera Ngassa and Court President Beatrice Ntuba as they help women in their village find the courage to fight difficult cases of abuse, despite pressures from family and their community to remain silent. With fierce compassion, they dispense wisdom, wisecracks and justice in fair measure.
Winner of the Prix Art et Essai at the Cannes in 2005 and screening to acclaim at more than 120 festivals around the world, this heart-rending, sometimes hilarious documentary showcases the strength and determination of African women as they champion the spirit of courage, hope and the possibility of change.
