The much-loved television comedy series The Goodies drew tens of millions of fans each week at its peak between 1974-75. An exceptional feature of the show, however, was Bill Oddie’s series of extraordinary musical compositions, which exploded into the mainstream pop charts with songs such as ‘The Inbetweeners ‘and ‘Funky Gibbon’ becoming top selling chart hits and leading to the trio finding themselves appearing on Top of The Pops alongside the top musical acts of the time.
In this talk Bill Oddie talks candidly about his work writing songs for the long running TV series, their chart successes and what it was like being bona fide pop star in the 70s.
