See Hear on Tour

part of BBC See Hear Weekend 2018

Event

Please note: This event took place in Feb 2018

See Hear on Tour was an ambitious travel programme that visited five different European capitals – Amsterdam, Berlin, Vilnius, Helsinki and Dublin.

The programme featured presenter Rosie Benn meeting different Deaf people and experiencing different aspects of Deaf culture – from cycling along Amsterdam’s canals, trying vegan food at a Deaf cafe in Berlin, eating berries in Helsinki, learning Lithuanian sign language in Vilnius to going in search of the craic in Dublin! The most challenging part of making these programmes was filming it with a crew of just three: director and camera operator Sebastian Cunliffe, presenter and researcher Rosie Benn, and interpreter Adrian Bailey.

At this event you'll be able to meet all three when they introduce clips from the series, discuss their favourite moments and show just how they filmed it with the aid of a few clever bits of kit!

The discussion will include live speech to text transcription and a sign language interpreter. All of our cinema auditoria are fitted with induction loop systems.
