THE ROOMS is a series of interactive installations that present 53 inventions designed to change and brighten your world. Drop in with family and friends on either Fri 6 Nov (from 16:00) or Sat 7 Nov (10:00 - 18:00) to explore THE ROOMS in the old Firestation, Magistrates Courts and Police Station in Bristol City Centre. Alongside a whole series of free interactive installations for you to explore we are also hosting an exciting schedule of talks, workshops, a film screening and of course a house party.
THE ROOMS is brought to you by REACT, the creative economy hub for the South West and Wales. Funded by the Arts and Humanities Research Council, REACT has invested in collaboration, cultural experimentation and creative innovation between University researchers and creative businesses, supporting them to make new kinds of digital products and experience. Now, with a portfolio of 53 projects, it's time to celebrate all of this brilliant work and look to the future. THE ROOMS is free to attend.
How to find THE ROOMS
We’re making The Rooms across a collection of buildings that used to be the old Bridewell Police Station, Firestation, CID buildings and Magistrates Courts in the heart of Bristol’s city centre. This is the first time that the whole site is being used together for one event, so it should be a really special experience.
The Rooms, Garden Gates on Silver Street, Bristol, BS1 2AG
REACT is a collaboration between the University of the West of England, Watershed, and the Universities of Bath, Bristol, Cardiff and Exeter, and is one of Four UK Knowledge Exchange Hubs for the Creative Economy funded by the Arts and Humanities Research Council (AHRC).
