Sound and Vision: DJ Cheeba and DJ Food VJ/DJ live performances
Filmic19
Please note : this season finished in April 2019
As part of Filmic19, Watershed has commissioned one of Bristol’s pioneering audio/visual performers DJ Cheeba to create three unique live performances which will explore the creative connections between film and music.
In OK Composer (Wed 6 March) join us in Watershed’s Bar as Cheeba celebrates Radiohead guitarist Jonny Greenwood's prolific work in film music composition in films such as Paul Thomas Anderson’s Inherent Vice and Lynne Ramsay’s You Were Never Really Here, as well as the band’s frontman Thom Yorke’s recent foray into film composition with Luca Guadagnino's remake of Suspiria.
Cheeba also takes us on a visual and sonic journey through the influences of minimalist innovators such as Steve Reich and Terry Rilley in a set at St George's which remixes the minimalists (Thu 11 April); and finally, handing the reins to his partner in VJ/DJ manipulation DJ Food, delves into the musical and visual influence of the electronic phenomenon that are Kraftwerk with a set entitled Klassics, Kurios and Kovers (Sat 20 April) at The Cube. Expect to be entranced and transported with these bespoke live sets.
