Queer Vision Film Festival (Fri 25 June - Mon 26 July), presents a diverse programme of new release LGBTQIA+ films from around the globe, including independently-made features and award-winning short films as part of Bristol Pride Festival.
The year's highlights include in-person screenings of Supernova, Cowboys, Tove, Two of Us plus a special preview of Sweetheart at Watershed.
Plus two outdoor screenings/events held at Trinity Centre; the camp classic Muriel’s Wedding hosted by Annette Curtains (aka Tom Marshman) and her glamorous friend and neighbour, Mariana Trench and Taking Liberties - an evening of Black Queer shorts, music and discussion in collaboration with Kiki Bristol.
The Queer Vision team has also put together a diverse selection of short film programmes from the Iris Prize and a selection of South West Queer Shorts which will be available to stream online throughout the festival.
- Queer Vision believes in the importance of seeing yourself reflected on screen and aims to increase visibility and accessibility of queer media, and to create a community that is a safe space to explore themes, and discuss the representations we see. You can join the Queer Vision Team and guests, for a discussion on the films in this year’s programme (Mon 12 July), and wider conversations on straight casting, lesbian costume dramas and more.
- Bristol Pride Festival runs from Sat 3 - Fri 16 July with events across Bristol to celebrate and champion diversity and equality. Visit bristolpride.co.uk for more information about the programmed events.
Queer Vision Film Festival is kindly sponsored by Triodos Bank.
