Cables & Cameras: Jamaican Independence 60th Anniversary

Season

Please note : this season finished in Aug 2022

Jamaican Independence 60th Anniversary is a proud moment in the heritage of the West Indian community in Bristol and we want you to be part of the celebration.

Cables & Cameras, Lakota, Dropop, DET Entertainment and BRB Supermarket (Easton) have come together to present a weekend of films and an evening of music curated to celebrate the 60 years of independence.

The screening and programme will provide a spotlight on Black and Brown people of Caribbean heritage who have resided in the UK since the Windrush generation.

This weekend highlights the impact Jamaican culture has had on the UK and the world, bringing the culture, rhythms and colours of the island's unique identity to the cinema screen and the Café & Bar.

Tickets: £5.00 full / £4.00 concessions.

In your booking confirmation email all Jamaican Independence 60th Anniversary ticket holders will receive a ticket code which will give you £1.00 discount for The Harder They Come (opens Fri 5 Aug), and tickets are £5.00 full / £4.00 concessions over the Jamaica Independence weekend (Fri 5 - Sun 7 Aug).

About Cables & Cameras: Cables & Cameras provides a hub for Black and POC filmmakers and creatives in Bristol, opening up opportunities for collaboration. For more information visit cablesandcameras.com
