Fear and Loathing in Las Vegas

Artist Ralph Steadman is perhaps best known for his collaboration with Gonzo journalist Hunter S. Thompson - whom he credits as being the catalyst for the discovery of his raw, wild and slightly maniacal humour. His distinctive illustrations coupled with Thompson's scorching words in Fear and Loathing in Las Vegas entirely capture the surreal drug-fuelled road trip and helped give the book immediate cult status.
Terry Gilliam's brilliant big-screen portrayal of Thompson's seminal psychedelic classic chronicles the feverish odyssey across America by journalist Raoul Duke (Johnny Depp) and his lawyer Dr Gonzo (Benicio Del Toro). Along the way it ruminates on the notion of the American dream - albeit one fuelled by a suitcase full of mind-bending pharmaceuticals that they keep stashed in their convertible, The Red Shark. What Steadman contributed to the book, he does so in equal measure for the film, providing it with its now legendary and distinctive opening titles.

Find out more here, including details of the schedule of work. Thank you for your patience in advance.
