Asma spent a day working in an office, and discovered that the caretaker was also a conjurer, skilled at sleight-of-hand. She turned this discovery into this fantastical digital story.
This story was made in a four and a half day training workshop for facilitators and artists working in Henbury. It was led by Aikaterini Gegisian, Liz Milner and Paddy Uglow with support from Helen Boal and was supported by Bristol’s Museums, Galleries & Archives.

I walked into the building. It was bustling and busy. The caretaker greeted me and showed me around. He then left me to my work. He seemed a nice, reliable chap and the other staff thought so too.
I finished at 6 pm and made my way down the corridor, which looked really dark and quiet. I thought that I should warn the caretaker so that he could set the alarm, as I was the last to leave.
At the end of the corridor, I turned the corner and made my way to the caretaker’s room. I knocked on the door. There was no response. It was slightly ajar so I pushed it open. That’s when I saw the silhouette – a large, black, shadowy thing with a billowing cape and pointy head.
I froze. Suddenly the caretaker came towards me. “Hold out your hand’ he said. So I did. He waved his hand over mine. I looked down and there was a bright, shiny ring in the palm of my hand. My initial shock turned to surprise and I smiled broadly.
