Further Info

This workshop was based around the Number 77 First Bus service which runs between Henbury and Hartcliffe. Three passengers and two drivers came together to share their stories and experiences, with the help of Aikaterini Gegisian and Paddy Uglow and support from Bristol’s Museums, Galleries & Archives.

Transcript

I like going down Gloucester Road early in the morning when dawn breaks.

You get to see the whole world while it’s sleeping,

while other people are working, opening shops and cleaning the streets.

I love the sounds of early morning.

No cars, only a chorus of birds that you’d never hear any other time.

Sometimes you get foxes prowling the streets, sometimes you get drunks walking home, fed up of waiting for the nightbus. Though, the only reason I’m up this early is for work, sorting out supplements for the sunday papers.

Although I like this side of town, I treasure the moment the sun rises over the horizon of buildings because it means a brand new day, which I usually have to watch behind the tills at Sainsbury’s.
