Transcript
My friend Harvey used to sneak me into his house for secret sleepovers.
We were sitting on a wall one day. I was miserable: My family had just broken up and I was homeless. Over Christmas I had spent two nights sleeping rough. I was cold and hungry for the first time in my life, aching with cold and fear, and too scared to move.
Harvey said, “Come round my gaff.”, so I squatted.
For the first year, I was very depressed, and lived in the wardrobe, but slowly, I became one of the family. Harvey didn’t mind, but his brother Nicky was a little testy for a while. [sound of cat fighting] That’s when I got close to Lindy.
We had a lot in common and our relationship developed quite gradually. I knew we were an item when she started calling me “sweet pea”. Then we started sleeping together. She says I’ve really helped her through a difficult time. I could say the same.
Yesterday I bought her a mouse I’d caught.
