Transcript
My name is Helen. I’m 21 years old and this where I live in Redland whilst I am studying for my drama degree at Bristol University. I was born in Bristol in 1986. This is the road I lived in with my mum and dad, Caledonia Place in Clifton. It’s very near the suspension bridge. This is the same road 21 years later.
Here we are, this is number 9 Caledonia Place, one of my first homes in Bristol. We lived in the basement flat for most of the time that I can remember but we moved up to the first floor flat and this balcony was one of the places where I took some of my first steps.
Here’s me and my dad having a walk in Clifton. One of my favourite memories froffwhen I was young was watching the hot air balloons take off at Ashton Court. This is me with my mum doing that.
Me and my family moved away from Bristol when I was two and a half. But I was really happy to move back here when I started university because I love the city so much.
One of my favourite places is the Clifton Suspension Bridge. I often walk over to it on a day off and this photo of me was taken in my first year.
When I go for a run I always stop off at this bench where I can enjoy the view of the bridge. It’s a special place for me where I enjoy the peace and quiet and some time to think. I’ve nearly finished my degree so I’ll be leaving Bristol soon, but I have a feeling I’ll be back again one day.
