Kingsfield School burnt down in 1976. Two modern-day pupils look back over how it was and how it is now.

Now it’s called Kingsfield School.

As you can see it hasn’t changed much except the food – since that Jamie Oliver came along.
This is the plaque put up in memory of the great Kingsfield fire.
These next few pictures show the tragic damage to Kingsfield School.
The great fire started at 1 am on Sunday 8th August 1976. Its flames reached a minimum of forty feet and a maximum of a hundred feet at times.
About eighty firemen were fighting the blaze. The school reopened one month later and the students had to use temporary buildings.
