This story was made at the Theatre Orchard “Storyshed” workshop with young people from Priory Community School, Weston-super-Mare, and adults from Somerset Racial Equality Council’s Friendship group with funding from www.media-box.co.uk
The workshop was led by Liz Milner, Clodagh Miskelly and Paddy Uglow (CreativeMedia.org.uk), and was supported by Watershed.
A parallel Design/Technology project at Priory School to make ‘story gadgets’ for the Storyshed installation was led by Tarim from the Pervasive Media Studio – www.pmstudio.co.uk/collaborator/tarim
It was the very best day morning to start the day. And mum, dad and me arrived at the Bristol Hippodrome. Waiting for my name to call out at the back of the stage doors. 5 minutes later we sat down in the front sets in the Hippodrome. The Hippodrome was very big on the inside and was filled with 1,000 sets. Then they called out our names and went up stairs up into the wings. Some of us were very nervous but I wasn’t. So after the rehearsal everyone got exited about the show. When we came back to the dressing rooms we had a notates about what we were doing and what time we were suppose to be on. 30 minutes later we got changed into our costumes for the show. I ware a pink scarf, black joggers and top and my jazz shoes. Then all the production team got ready for the performance and we had to be very quitter so then we could hear when we were on and who was starting first. Then our names came out again and we went up stairs and we waited and waited in till we were on. When we performed everyone was clapping to the beat of the music (Mamma Mia) / ABBA medley. After an hour we walked down stairs to the dressing rooms waiting for the final performance. And we sang our song to the stagecoach production team. After the song everyone stud up clapping there hands. Then the curtains went down. It was the best performance ever.
