This story was made at the Theatre Orchard “Storyshed” workshop with young people from Priory Community School, Weston-super-Mare, and adults from Somerset Racial Equality Council’s Friendship group with funding from www.media-box.co.uk

The workshop was led by Liz Milner, Clodagh Miskelly and Paddy Uglow (CreativeMedia.org.uk), and was supported by Watershed.

A parallel Design/Technology project at Priory School to make ‘story gadgets’ for the Storyshed installation was led by Tarim from the Pervasive Media Studio – www.pmstudio.co.uk/collaborator/tarim

It was summer 2003. It was the Queen’s jubilee at Worlebury. Me and my friend Jack went to the celebration party. Hundreds of people arrived to celebrate the Queen. Organised by many people, there was food and activities for us all. Me, my mum, Jack, Jack’s mum and his sister Elizabeth all went tot the party and had lunch. Cakes sandwiched and drinks; there was everything. Jack finished his food before me as usual. After we went to play and Jack and I left everyone else. I was playing when I turned round. I couldn’t see Jack anywhere so I ran back to my mum. We looked everywhere for him. In the tree, under the tables and in the fields. We stopped panicking when we found Jack with a lot of other children.
When the celebration ended we went back home and thought “we’ve had enough excitement for the day.”
After that, we got news that Jack was going to move to France. I was greatly sad because I was really close to him and was always together. He moved away and I said goodbye…
Now. 6 years later on we got back in touch and discovered Jack was moving back to England. I was so happy to find my childhood friend was returning.
