Transcript
Cornish people. We get everywhere. You may not realise it but there’s hundreds of us in Bristol, if not thousands.
Most of us don’t have an accent so you probably haven’t noticed us but we are here, amongst you.
Next time you’re driving, or walking down a street with a lot of parked cars, count the number of Kernow stickers on the bumpers and rear windscreens. There are many. We are many.
[ominous music grows in volume throughout the rest of the story]
We are infiltrating you, Bristol. We give you our names. You eat our national dish. And you are assimilating, Bristol. You are becoming like us. We are becoming as one.
If you’ve been to Cornwall, you probably didn’t want to leave, Many of you haven’t.
And those of us who are here, in your city, are converting you. We are changing you, Bristol. You aspire to be like us. You are jealous or our clean air and clear night skies. You’re so close to the sea, and yet you have no nice beaches. We are here, Bristol. We are amongst you: across the road, in the corner of the pub, sat next to you at work. Before long, we will become one.
Perhaps in the future, we may even make you a decent beach.
