4th Clark BursaryA Personal History of Corruptionby Joe MageeView A Personal History of Corruption | Proposal | About JoeA Personal History of Corruption is a vibrant and thought-provoking piece which charts a history of corruption – beginning by reconstructing the original interactive artwork. When God instructed Adam and Eve not to touch the tree of knowledge in The Garden of Eden, he knew they would disobey: his human prototypes were created inherently corrupt and placed in a landscape primed to be corrupted. The tree was God’s own interactive installation: the secret knowledge it harboured was potentially mind-blowing and also the bitterest of pills. According to his instructions, this artwork was to be observed and not to be touched. A Personal History of Corruption attempts to understand the essence of corruption, and the validity of interactive art.
