Juneau Projects launch a new album
Blackbird in Infospace is a new album by our 2012 Studio Residency artists Juneau Projects, created following a period of research in Worcester.
We’re particularly excited about it because unlike other albums that can be bought online or through record shops, this album is free, and can be downloaded via USB points housed in purpose-built ‘shrines’, situated in five of Worcester’s most distinctive destinations: the city’s architecturally renowned Georgian Guildhall; Worcester City Art Gallery; The Hive (the newly opened, first joint University and public library in Europe); MOVEMENT (an artist-run gallery on Worcester Foregate Railway Station); and Rise Worcester (the city’s only independent record shop).
The shrines pay homage to Juneau Projects ongoing investigations into 21st century technology and the instant downloads can be accessed by anyone with a USB flash drive of 4GB or under.

While resident at Watershed developing Bartleby, their robotic drawing arm, Dan Willams and I had a good chat with them about potential ideas for Blackbird in Infospace, so we are very pleased to see it installed and open to the public. We’d definitely recommend checking it out if you’re in the area, or if not, have a look at the pics and hear an album sample on Juneau Projects’ website.
