See No Evil 2011
Last week I was sent to help out on a Bristol City Council project that transformed the face of one of Bristol's drabbest streets.
See No Evil brought together a cross-section of the international Street Art community to 'paint one whole street horizontically and vertically over the space of a week'. Nelson Street is full of concrete buildings that made perfect canvases, and previously redundant walk-ways now provide viewing platforms.
I was helping the council coordinate the event volunteers, who were there to speak to passers-by about what was going on, and guide people away from traffic whilst they gazed up at the progress. It was fantastic experience, and a great look into the workings of a large-scale event.
The media coverage for the event has been phenomenal, reaching national and international publications and broadcasters. Here is just a small selection of what's online.. BBC, Metro, Visit Bristol, Don't Panic.
Watch this video for footage of the week's painting and the block party that marked its completion,
and check out the flickr group for some stunning photos.
