Being a ‘curator’ with Push Me alongside Jo Verrent with Watershed is a fine thing – bar the high speed plate of croissants that made alien contact with my head this morning – the chance to push 12 extraordinary artists onto a range of digital platforms? Who wouldn’t want to take up the bat on this one? However a call to our fellow Spacers, If we’re playing this whole new ball game then we must also take some risks and perhaps take a little time to get some essentials sorted in this huge unknown?
Not sure I would describe myself as a ‘digital immigrant’ as Will Self went on to do. I know I don’t live breathe digital but I know it has potential to deliver great art for everyone and by that I mean everyone.
It’s fair to say that The Space is still very much in the making, in fact the best thing about this morning hatching with Director John Durrant to meet a man on the inside in BBC White City this Friday to ascertain exactly how we can stream our captioned and audio described 90 second bursts of brilliance in The Space.
